SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Feb. 27, 2013 — After an incredibly successful 2012 that included some of the most important stories in the sport and the release of an unparalleled Gear Guide, SUP magazine is going even bigger in 2013. The magazine’s print format will become an inch larger. In addition, the sport’s leading publication will see an additional 7,000 copies printed into circulation with 30,000 copies now being distributed worldwide.
"We’re covering an activity that is expanding in so many different directions, we had to expand the playing field," said SUP magazine Publisher Jim Marsh. "Standup is happening everywhere now. Each issue sells better than the previous. We doubled our web traffic in 2012. We need a larger size and more copies to meet demand in the world’s fastest growing sport."
In addition, SUP magazine has re-designed its iconic logo, adding a paddle to the "U" while incorporating the website, www.supthemag.com, into the masthead to further emphasize the publications unparalleled reach, both in print and online.
But it’s the bigger and bolder format that has the editorial staff amped for 2013.
"The new size will just add to the powerful impact of our magazine," says Editor Joe Carberry. "We work with the best photographers in the business and they deserve this to further the reach of their work. Our talented writers deserve this. But most of all, our readers deserve the bigger publication because it will make the magazine that much more fun to read and continue to create collector’s items out of each and every issue."
