The first major event to occur at world-class Stoner Skate Park drew local community members and top names in skateboarding including Eric Koston, Heath Kirchart, Mike Carroll, Vincent Alvarez, Dustin Dollin, Josh Kalis, Alex Olson, David Gonzales, Matt Miller, Theotis Beasley, Raven Tershy, and many more.
Perfect Memorial Weekend weather saw progressive tricks and unbelievable jam sessions for a packed plaza. On hand to witness it all was wish child, Dylan Matheu, who not only got to meet every professional skateboarder he’d ever dreamed of, he was able to skate and hang with them at his leisure. "Yesterday’s event was great! It was so wonderful to see the skateboard community embrace the Foundation,” said Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles Corporate Alliances Manager, Brooke Dafesh. “We are so grateful of all the support and money that was raised to help us continue to grant the wishes of children."
As the event came towards a close, legendary wildchild Dustin Dollin swooped in unannounced ripped the park and then surprisingly matched the first prize donation of $2,500. “Yesterday’s event could not have gone better, great weather, tons of great skateboarding and having the support from the local community and the skate industry to focus on a great cause was amazing,” said SKATEBOARDER Editor, Jamie Owens. “And what a better way to end the day was having our friend Dustin Dollin match the top prize donation. It was fantastic.”
