Irvine, CA (May 23, 2012) – Two of the hottest riders in the GEICO AMA EnduroCross championship were born and raised in Northern California. So they will have extra motivation when the series visits the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento on Saturday, June 9th. Lucas Oil backed Colton Haaker is from Hollister and he got his first main event win at the opening round in Las Vegas. He will compete at the first ever EnduroCross event held in Northern California with the red background on his number plates designating the points leader. Cody Webb is from Watsonville and races a factory backed Beta. He finished on the podium several times in 2011 and a fourth place finish in Las Vegas shows that he is ready to contend for the title in 2012.

“This is the closest thing to a home race for me. I have lived in SoCal the last few years but my parents still live in Hollister and all of my friends and family will have a good cheering section for sure” Haaker said about racing in Sacramento. “I have been working really hard and I intend to fight to keep the points lead” Haaker continued.

Cody Webb also expects to have a big cheering section in Sacramento and had this to say: “I am very excited for EnduroCross to visit Sacramento the first time. I’m a Nor Cal boy and I’m so glad to see the sport growing and come to the stadium where the Kings play. I should have a large cheering section of my friends and family since it’s my hometown race, so I can’t wait to put it all on the line when the gate drops June 9th.”

These are just two of the riders that are fighting to make it difficult on Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak, the three time GEICO EnduroCross champion. Blazusiak’s KTM teammate Mike Brown, the Monster Energy Kawasaki trio of Justin Soule, Taylor Robert and Bobby Garrison as well as the Factory Husqvarna team of Cory Graffunder and Kyle Redmond will all be fighting for the coveted podium positions.
