GrindMedia’s Canoe & Kayak Wins Two Awards SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Nov. 28, 2012 – GrindMedia is proud to announce that Canoe & Kayak has won two prestigious 2012 Folio: Awards. One of the largest awards competition for magazines, Folio’s “Eddie” and “Ozzie” Awards honors excellence in magazine editorial and design. Canoe & Kayak earned a silver “Eddie” for a “Single Article” in the category of “Consumer, Sports” for the June 2012 feature “Fall and Rise”. The magazine also earned a bronze “Eddie” for the “Full Issue” of June 2012. Both awards, in recognition of outstanding editorial, were announced earlier this month at the annual luncheon held at the Marriot Marquis in New York City.
“The passion and energy of our exceptional editorial team at Canoe & Kayak comes through in every issue of C&K,” said Norb Garrett, Senior Vice President and Group Publisher of GrindMedia. “Editor Jeff Moag, Art Director Parker Meek, Managing Editor Dave Shively and our entire editorial team have been creating terrifically engaging content worthy of such recognition from Folio. We’re very proud of their efforts.” The quintessential paddlers’ guide, Canoe & Kayak is a leader in the industry and no stranger to being recognized for its merit. The magazine won a 2012 Maggie Award from the Western Publishing Association for the Dec. 2011 issue.
