Cyclenano Named Title Sponsor of Women’s Class for Las Vegas EnduroCross Finals
Irvine, CA (November 13, 2012) – The first ever Women’s GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship series will come down to the final round in Las Vegas and Cyclenano has stepped up with a purse for the ladies. Not the kind of purse that most ladies carry but a cash payout for the top three finishers in the Las Vegas main event. $500, $300 and $200 will be awarded to the top three respectively.
As you have probably witnessed during the Women’s X Games event these past two years in addition to the stand alone class for the women at the 2012 EnduroCross events, the ladies are rapidly improving their skills on the challenging courses. The 2012 Championship will likely be a showdown between KTM’s Maria Forsburg, the multi time GNCC and WORCS champion and Louise Forsley, the multi time Women’s Trials champion that has quickly adapted to EnduroCross. Forsburg comes into Vegas with a ten point lead but Forsley is ready to try to challenge for the win and title. Canada’s Chantelle Bykerk has won a few of the non-points paying Women’s EnduroCross rounds this year and has been steady in those that do award points to come into Vegas in third but out of touch for the title.
“It is great to see how much the ladies have improved since they first raced at X Games just over one year ago” said Ron Ruane, Owner of Cyclenano. “We are supporting the women’s class to show how much we appreciate their effort and the great show that they put on for all of us”.
The Las Vegas finals will take place on Saturday, November 17th inside the Orleans Arena. Like all EnduroCross events, the pit area behind the Orleans Arena will be open to the public for free all day on Friday and Saturday. And the Arena will also be open for free for the Friday and Saturday afternoon practice and qualifying. So come in early to get your favorite riders autograph and watch them get ready for the big show.
