2012 Ontario California EnduroCross Video Highlights
Action from Blazusiak’s win over Cody Webb

Ontario, CA (September 16, 2012) – Check out the video highlights from the 2012 Ontario, California round of the GEICO EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil. http://youtu.be/tAT7x0qD08g

KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak became the first two time winner of a GEICO EnduroCross main event for 2012 but Beta’s Cody Webb challenged him and led several laps. A small mistake by Webb allowed Blazusiak to take the lead back with just a few laps remaining and hold on for the win. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Justin Soule had a race long battle with Husqvarna’s Kyle Redmond and took the final podium position. Taylor Robert took fifth.

The day started with Blazusiak setting the fastest time during the MVP Racing Hot Lap. Mike Brown was second and Webb was third to take the first picks in their respective heat races.

Webb, Soule and Blazusiak each won the Expert Heat races to get the best picks for the main. Ryan Rodgers, Colton Haaker and Jamie Lanza each won their Semi’s, which meant that Mike Brown and Taylor Robert had to go through the LCQ to make it to the main event. GEICO Honda’s Geoff Aaron, Kevin Rookstool, Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder and Bobby Prochnau were among the surprise non-qualifiers for the main event.

Blazusiak took the holeshot in the main event with Webb close behind. The two separated themselves from the rest of the field with Webb pushing Blazusiak hard until just past the halfway point when Blazusiak made a mistake to allow Webb to take over the lead. Webb led for several laps and looked to be on his way to his first ever EnduroCross main event win but then a small mistake opened the door for Blazusiak to take the lead back. Webb kept it close all the way to the finish. Husqvarna’s Kyle Redmond held third for most of the main event with Soule close behind and Soule finally made the move to take the final podium spot. Redmond held on for forth ahead of Taylor Robert who had worked his way through the field. Lucas Oil Rockstar backed Colton Haaker finished sixth. Mike Brown had a tough night and the X Games winner finished seventh. Destry Abbott finished eighth ahead of Ryan Rodgers. Gary Sutherlin and Jamie finished tenth and eleventh respectively.

The night also included the Open Amateur class, which was won by sixteen year old Ty Tremaine over Dustin McCarthy and Evan Kelly. Tremane came back later in the evening to win the TrialsCross main event over Chris Green and Dustin McCarthy. Kurt Nicholl won the 35+ Vet class over Tod Sciaqua and Colby Begin. Canada’s Chantelle Bykerk won the women’s main event over Nocole Madsen and Louise Forsley.

Ryan Sandoval won the Baja Designs night race, which included all of the Expert riders that did not make the main event. Sandoval made a pass for the lead in the final turn to take the $500 winner take all bonus.

The next round of the GEICO EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil will be in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, October 6th.
