SURFER Magazine’s 2011 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge makes its fifth stop at Ala Moana Bowls on the South Shore of Oahu on July 8.
The 34th annual National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Championships brings the finest up-and-coming surfers to Huntington Beach this Saturday and Sunday.
Canoe & Kayak magazine recently announced the formation of new paddling races that will take place in Southwest Florida during the Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival. Kayakers, outrigger and standup paddlers are encouraged to participate in the event on the Sanibel Causeway near Ft. Myers Beach.

POWDER Magazine, “the portfolio of the other ski experience” for 40 years, is pleased to announce the return of John Stifter to the editorial staff. Stifter, who served as the magazine’s Associate Editor from 2007 to 2010, will be filling the position of Senior Editor held by Matt Hansen since 2007.

The fourth stop of SURFER Magazine’s 2011 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge (OSSC) saw blue skies and chest- to shoulder-high waves as nine teams—Huntington Surf and Sport, Jack’s, Surfside, Katin, T. Patterson, Laguna Surf and Sport, Val Surf, Frog House, and Spyder—vied for the “Best in the West” title at 54th Street in Newport Beach.
